Role Purpose:
To ensure financial excellence and control through the strategic oversight of all accounting operations, including AP, AR, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is pivotal in transforming financial data into actionable business insights, driving cost efficiency, and leading a high-performing accounting team to support the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) Controlling
- Oversee the entire AP and AR functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
- Implement and maintain robust controls over the cash conversion cycle, optimizing DPO and DSO.
- Manage corporate credit card, employee expense reimbursements, and vendor payment terms.
- Oversee collection activities and manage aged debt.
- Reconcile key AP/AR control accounts and lead the month-end closing processes for these areas
2- Accruals, Prepayments, and Fixed Assets
- Lead the month-end close process for accruals, ensuring all expenses are recognized in the correct accounting period in accordance with the matching principle.
- Manage the prepaid expenses schedule, ensuring accurate amortization and classification.
- Oversee the company's fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and impairment reviews.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) for property, lease, plant, and equipment and intangible assets.
- Coordinate physical asset verification audits and reconcile to the general ledger.
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization entries.
3- General Accounting & Other Tasks
- Own the general ledger and ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Manage the company's cash flow forecasting functions.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of financial results and preparation of auditready financial files and schedules.
- Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process, including responding to auditor queries and ensuring all required supporting documents are available.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Partner with IT to maintain and optimize the financial systems (ERP) for accounting efficiency.
4- Zakat and Tax
- Support the Zakat and Tax team during filing.
- Provide support to the Line Manager during Zakat and Tax assessments.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA , or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within a holding company or diversified business environment.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP).
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
