Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee our accounting department and manage financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial management, and leadership. This role requires strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and initiatives.
- Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in financial management processes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of [4 ] years of experience in accounting and financial management.
