Role Description The Chief Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Markaz El Mahalet El Kobra, responsible for leading all accounting and financial reporting activities at Food Valley . This role oversees the general ledger, ensures accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing, and prepares financial statements in line with applicable standards. The Chief Accountant manages budgeting, cash flow tracking, and cost analysis to support management in financial decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising accounting staff, monitoring accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts, and maintaining internal controls and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The role also involves collaborating with senior leadership to improve financial processes, support audits, and contribute to financial planning and risk management.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and cost accounting.
• Candidates should possess financial planning and analysis skills, such as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management.
• Candidates should possess tax and compliance skills, including knowledge of local accounting regulations, tax laws, and audit preparation.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and Excel, along with the ability to work with data, create reports, and use digital tools to enhance financial workflows.
• Candidates should possess leadership and management skills, including team supervision, workload prioritization, and mentoring less-experienced colleagues.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant academic qualifications, such as a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, are required; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a dynamic or growth-focused company, and the ability to communicate clearly with both financial and non-financial stakeholders is highly beneficial.
