Lychee is the leading player in the rapidly growing healthy food industry in Egypt, with a unique and highly scalable position in the market that combines a healthy fast- food retail arm and a manufacturing arm for healthy packaged foods. Most notably fresh juices and Greek yogurt.

As part of our greater mission to make healthier food choices accessible and sustainable for people's everyday lifestyle - we're extending our commitment to the region with our entry into the Saudi Arabian market, with a substantial retail expansion plan and on-ground operations starting Q2, 2025 in Riyadh.

Lychee relies on both its manufacturing capabilities and brand recognition built over a decade to expand its retail operations seamlessly based on customer demand and to scale its existing presence in modern trade, traditional trade and quick commerce.

What will you be doing

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, submitting required filings on time.
• Manage the annual external audit process and liaise with auditors to resolve any findings or queries.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Provide management with financial analysis and reports to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with various departments.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Support ERP system implementation, upgrades, and optimization from a finance perspective.
• Evaluate accounting procedures, systems, and controls and recommend improvements.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation and proactively adjust policies where necessary.

What are we looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is a plus)
• Minimum of 12 years of work experience in accounting; including 2 years as Chief Accountant
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proven experience in preparing financial reports and managing audits.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
