We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to join our Finance Department as part of our continued growth and financial operations enhancement. The role will support financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities, ensuring accurate financial management and strong internal controls across the organization, with a particular focus on real estate and property-related financial operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for real estate projects, properties, and business units to provide meaningful financial insights to management.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and property-related accounts.
- Monitor and support financial transactions related to property management, leasing, rental income, service charges, maintenance, and operating expenses.
- Assist in monitoring project and property budgets, costs, cash flows, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes, including providing financial records and supporting documentation for property and project-related accounts.
- Analyze financial performance of properties and projects and identify variances, cost trends, and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to financial reporting improvements, process optimization, and strengthening of internal financial controls.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to support management in real estate investment, property operations, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with Property Management, Leasing, Development, Projects, and other departments on financial matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the real estate, property management, construction, or related industries, with supervisory or senior analyst exposure.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Experience in real estate accounting, property accounting, leasing, rental income, service charges, property operating expenses, or project accounting is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of financial management for real estate projects and property portfolios.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
