Role Summary
The Chief Accountant will manage upstream operator and joint-venture accounting for operated and non-operated oil and gas assets. The role ensures accurate partner accounting, cash calls, billings, reconciliations, cost recovery support and audit-ready financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle JVA/JIB accounting, partner balances, allocations and reconciliations.
- Prepare and reconcile cash calls, partner billings and statements.
- Support upstream month-end close, including E&E accounting, DD&A, impairment, hydrocarbon revenue and decommissioning.
- Apply JOA/PSC terms for cost recovery, entitlement, royalties and government take.
- Support AFE accounting, farm-ins/farm-outs, JV audits and partner-related financial assurance.
- Maintain accurate asset, venture and partner master data and improve finance processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Oil & Gas operations and/or Joint Venture experience, preferably from the operator/owner's perspective rather than the contractor's side, is mandatory for all roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification or actively progressing, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or CMA.
- Around 7+ years of finance/accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in oil and gas operator or complex JV environment.
- Experience with JVA/JIB, JOAs/PSCs, cash calls, AFEs, partner billing and JV audits.
- Advanced ERP and Excel skills; SAP/JVA experience is preferred.
- Professional English and willingness to work in Doha with occasional travel
