The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily accounting operations of operations and maintenance projects.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure financial efficiency.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers to monitor project profitability and financial performance.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation.
- Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and cost control.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in Operations & Maintenance (O&M), facilities management or contracting companies is highly preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles (IFRS).
- Excellent budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems ( Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
