Job Role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for a diversified Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, Freight, and Warehousing business. The role is responsible for driving sustainable growth, profitability, operational excellence, business expansion, and organizational transformation while ensuring the achievement of short- and long-term strategic objectives.

The CEO will oversee all aspects of the business, including commercial operations, supply chain management, logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing, financial performance, customer experience, people leadership, and business development. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding market presence, identifying new growth opportunities, and strengthening the organization's position as a leading logistics solutions provider.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Corporate Direction

  • Develop and execute the company's long-term vision, growth strategy, and business plans.
  • Lead the organization in achieving sustainable growth, profitability, and competitive advantage.
  • Identify emerging industry trends, market opportunities, and potential risks impacting the business.
  • Drive innovation, digital transformation, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Establish strategic objectives and ensure alignment across all departments and business units.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, government entities, and industry leaders.

Business Growth & Expansion

  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and revenue streams.
  • Lead market expansion initiatives across local, regional, and international markets.
  • Evaluate acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances to support growth objectives.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to increase market share and strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and overall business development initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end logistics, shipping, warehousing, and supply chain operations.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of assets, resources, infrastructure, and technology platforms.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure operational performance meets established KPIs, service levels, and customer expectations.
  • Drive best-in-class safety, quality, and compliance standards across the organization.

Financial Management & Governance

  • Lead the development and execution of annual budgets, business plans, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure achievement of revenue, profitability, and cash flow objectives.
  • Optimize working capital, asset utilization, and overall financial performance.
  • Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Present business performance, strategic plans, and key initiatives to the Board and stakeholders.
  • Ensure sound corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Leadership & People Management

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing executive leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership development programs.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement, diversity, and a strong performance-driven culture.
  • Mentor senior leaders and ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Strengthen relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
  • Drive customer-centric strategies to improve client satisfaction and long-term business growth.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and strategic business engagements.
  • Build the company's reputation and brand presence within the logistics and shipping industry.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international regulations governing shipping and logistics operations.
  • Establish effective risk management frameworks and business continuity plans.
  • Oversee ESG, health, safety, environmental, and quality initiatives across the organization.
  • Implement policies and controls to safeguard company assets and reputation.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Executive leadership certifications and professional memberships are advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 20+ years of progressive experience within Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, Freight Forwarding, Transportation, Port Operations, or related sectors.
  • Minimum 5-10 years in a CEO, Managing Director, General Manager, Business Unit Head, or equivalent executive leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling businesses, driving profitability, and leading organizational transformation.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-site, or multi-country operations is highly desirable.
  • GCC/UAE experience preferred.
