Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the organization's long-term vision, mission, and strategy
- Align sporting objectives with commercial and operational goals
- Identify growth opportunities (new markets, partnerships, events, products)
Business & Financial Performance
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and revenue generation
- Ensure profitability, sustainability, and efficient resource allocation
- Lead sponsorship, media rights, licensing, and commercial partnerships
Sporting & Operational Oversight
- Ensure high standards of sporting performance and athlete development
- Oversee operations including competitions, facilities, logistics, and events
- Support innovation in training, technology, and fan engagement
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local and international sports regulations
- Maintain strong corporate governance and ethical standards
- Act as the main liaison with the Board of Directors
Stakeholder & Brand Management
- Represent the organization publicly and with key stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with sponsors, federations, government bodies, and media
- Strengthen brand reputation, fan engagement, and community impact
People & Culture
- Build and lead a high-performing executive team
- Foster a values-driven, inclusive, and performance-oriented culture
- Oversee talent development across sporting and corporate functions
Key Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience (CEO, Managing Director, or equivalent)
- Proven background in the sports industry or closely related sectors
- Strong track record in commercial growth and strategic leadership
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic thinking and decision-making
- Financial acumen and business development expertise
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of sports governance and stakeholder ecosystems
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, Finance, or related field
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred
