Job Brief:
The Finance Manager / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy and operations of a group of companies operating across construction, manufacturing, and electromechanical equipment installation sectors.
This role is critical in ensuring strong financial governance, project-based financial control, cash flow discipline, and strategic financial planning across multiple business verticals. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership to support business growth, large-scale project execution, and the long-term sustainability of the group.
The position requires strong expertise in project accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and financial performance management, particularly within construction and electromechanical project environments.
Job Responsibilities:
Group Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the group's diversified operations, including construction, manufacturing, and electromechanical projects.
- Provide financial leadership to support business expansion, project bidding, and diversification initiatives.
- Align financial planning and reporting processes across multiple entities within the group structure.
Budgeting, Project Costing & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process across group companies and individual project budgets.
- Oversee project-wise costing, profitability tracking, and financial feasibility analysis.
- Monitor budget versus actual performance across ongoing construction and installation projects.
- Update rolling financial forecasts based on project progress, procurement cycles, and operational changes.
Cash Flow, Working Capital & Project Financing
- Manage consolidated cash flow across group entities, ensuring sufficient liquidity to support ongoing projects.
- Oversee working capital management, including supplier payments, subcontractor settlements, and project mobilization costs.
- Structure and manage project financing arrangements, credit facilities, and banking relationships.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, financiers, and key financial stakeholders.
Project & Operational Financial Control
- Implement strong financial controls for project-based accounting and contract execution.
- Monitor cost overruns, revenue recognition, and milestone-based billing processes.
- Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and operations departments to maintain financial discipline across project sites and corporate operations.
- Ensure accurate job costing and project margin tracking.
Financial Analysis & Performance Management
- Analyze financial performance across business units, including construction, manufacturing, and installation services.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin improvement.
- Provide management reporting on profitability by project, client, and business segment.
- Support strategic decision-making with data-driven financial insights.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify and manage financial, contractual, and operational risks associated with construction and installation projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee internal controls across procurement, contracting, and project execution processes.
- Manage insurance coverage for projects, assets, and liabilities.
Leadership & Strategic Decision Support
- Act as a key financial advisor to the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
- Support strategic decisions related to tenders, bids, joint ventures, and large-scale project investments.
- Lead and develop finance teams across multiple group entities.
- Drive process improvements and system implementations to enhance financial efficiency.
Stakeholder & Banking Relations
- Prepare consolidated financial reports for group-level review and decision-making.
- Present financial performance updates to management and external stakeholders where required.
- Manage relationships with auditors, consultants, banks, and investors.
- Ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting across all entities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred.
- 8–15 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within Construction, Electromechanical / MEP Contracting, Manufacturing, and Group Holding structures.
- Strong expertise in project accounting, job costing, and construction finance.
- Experience managing multi-entity or group financial structures.
- Proven experience reporting directly to a Managing Director or company owner.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking ability.
- Have experience reporting to the Managing Director / Owner.
