Job Description

Role Summary:

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for developing and executing the Group's people strategy in alignment with business objectives. In addition to overseeing Human Resources and Administration, the CHRO provides executive oversight for Legal and Compliance functions, ensuring governance, regulatory adherence, and organizational effectiveness across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Human Resources Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's short- and long-term business goals.
  • Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Establish and oversee performance management, compensation, benefits, and reward frameworks.
  • Ensure effective employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievance management.
  • Promote a strong organizational culture, employee engagement, and ethical workplace practices.
  • Oversee learning and development initiatives to enhance capability and productivity.

2. Administration & Corporate Services

  • Oversee administrative functions, including office management, facilities, travel, accommodation, and company assets.
  • Establish administrative policies, procedures, and service-level standards.
  • Ensure cost efficiency and operational effectiveness across administrative operations.
  • Coordinate with IT, Procurement, and other support functions for smooth business operations.

3. Legal Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of all legal matters, including contracts, agreements, disputes, and litigation.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel to mitigate legal risks and protect company interests.
  • Ensure all corporate documents, contracts, and policies are legally compliant and properly maintained.
  • Advise the CEO and Board on legal implications of strategic decisions.

4. Compliance & Governance

  • Establish and oversee compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to local and international laws, labor regulations, and corporate governance standards.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation across the organization.
  • Lead internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure ethical standards, codes of conduct, and internal controls are effectively implemented.

5. Strategic & Executive Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on people, governance, and organizational matters.
  • Participate in executive decision-making, strategy formulation, and business planning.
  • Present regular reports to the CEO and Board on HR metrics, compliance status, and organizational risks.
  • Lead change management initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring from a people and compliance perspective.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Minimum 1215 years of progressive leadership experience, with significant exposure to HR, administration, legal, and compliance functions.
  • Prior experience in a senior executive or CHRO-level role is highly desirable.
