The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's day-to-day operational functions to support the company's strategic growth objectives in the semiconductor and IC design industry. The COO will ensure operational excellence across engineering operations, business support functions, project execution, resource management, organizational scalability, and cross-functional alignment.
The role requires a strong leader with experience in high-tech and engineering-driven organizations, capable of driving operational efficiency, organizational effectiveness, delivery excellence, and sustainable growth while maintaining a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute the company's strategic plans and long-term objectives.
- Translate corporate strategy into operational plans and measurable objectives.
- Support company expansion, scalability, and organizational transformation initiatives.
- Drive operational readiness to support business growth and customer commitments.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily company operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and business continuity.
- Establish and optimize operational processes, governance models, and performance standards.
- Monitor organizational performance through KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and execution capabilities.
Engineering & Delivery Operations
Collaborate with engineering leaders to;
- Ensure successful project execution, resource allocation, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor project delivery, utilization, capacity planning, and operational risks.
- Improve operational coordination across engineering teams and support functions.
- Ensure efficient workforce planning to meet business and project demands.
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Support cybersecurity, business continuity, and operational resilience initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, ethics, and corporate governance.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with customers, partners, and executive stakeholders to ensure operational alignment and business success.
- Represent operations in executive meetings and strategic discussions.
- Strengthen cross-functional communication and alignment across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a relevant Engineering field.
- An MBA or a postgraduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum 17+ years of experience in operations, engineering management, or executive leadership roles.
- Experience in semiconductor, IC design, high-tech, or engineering services industries is a must.
- Proven experience managing large-scale operations and fast-growing organizations.
- Strong understanding of organizational scaling, operational governance, and delivery management.
