Job Description

Title: Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (Fintech)

Location: Dubai

About the Company

Our client is a regulated fintech and digital assets firm operating across the GCC. The company offers institutional trading, cross-border payments, merchant services, and HNI/family office wealth management solutions. They are seeking a senior risk and compliance leader to strengthen enterprise-wide governance and oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise Risk Management framework, including policies, risk appetite, and risk registers, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance across all business lines, embedding a strong risk-aware culture while monitoring evolving laws and industry standards.
  • Monitor and manage financial, counterparty, operational, and legal risks, providing early identification of exposures and mitigation strategies.
  • Review key commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and business initiatives from a risk perspective, coordinating with legal and compliance teams to address material risks.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports, dashboards, and scenario analyses for senior management and the Board, highlighting key risk indicators and emerging threats.
  • Serve as an independent voice in governance forums, including risk committees, providing challenge, guidance, and escalation where necessary to protect the firm's interests.

Requirements

  • 1015 years experience in risk management, compliance, or related functions within financial services, fintech, or digital asset firms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks and GCC regulatory regimes.
  • Experience managing financial, compliance, counterparty, and legal risks at a senior/executive level.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior management and Boards on risk matters and influence decision-making.
  • Professional qualifications such as FRM, PRM, CAMS, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or Risk Management; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
