We are seeking an experienced Civil / Geotechnical Engineer with strong tunnel supervision experience to support the delivery of a landmark hospitality project in AlUla. The role focuses on overseeing geotechnical works, tunnel excavation activities, and ensuring that all underground construction is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise tunnel excavation, support installation, and geotechnical works across project phases.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, method statements, and safety procedures.
- Review geotechnical data, ground investigation results, and contractor submissions.
- Support the implementation of excavation and tunneling methodologies, including sequencing and temporary/permanent support systems.
- Conduct site inspections to verify ground conditions, support installation, and alignment with engineering requirements.
- Coordinate with geotechnical specialists, structural engineers, and the H&S team to resolve technical issues.
- Assist in risk assessments related to ground stability, groundwater, and excavation hazards.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and progress documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Saudi codes, project specifications, and environmental/heritage constraints specific to AlUla.
- Provide technical input during design reviews and construction meetings.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in civil or geotechnical engineering, with direct experience supervising tunnel or underground works.
- BSc in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, or related discipline).
- Strong understanding of tunneling methods, excavation support systems, and ground behavior.
- Experience on large‑scale infrastructure, hospitality, or complex terrain projects.
- Familiarity with Middle East construction practices; Saudi experience preferred.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to interpret geotechnical reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Professional certifications or memberships are an advantage
