Job Description Civil / Finishing Engineer

Position Title: Civil / Finishing Engineer

Location: UAE

Employment Type: 2-year engagement

Role Purpose

The Civil / Finishing Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing civil, structural, renovation, and finishing works within commercial and residential buildings. The role ensures that maintenance and project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and aligned with quality standards, building codes, and operational requirements.

Main Responsibilities

The Civil / Finishing Engineer performs a vital role in the management and execution of construction and finishing projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise daily civil and finishing maintenance activities (carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting, plastering, roofing, flooring, faade, etc.)
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, defects, and required corrective actions
  • Ensure execution of planned preventive maintenance (PPM)
  • Monitor building elements such as walls, ceilings, partitions, doors, windows, floors, and external facades
  • Plan and execute refurbishment, renovation, and fit-out works
  • Review project documents: drawings, BOQs, and material submittals
  • Ensure timely delivery of work within approved budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Perform defect analysis and recommend long-term solutions
  • Ensure deliverables follow authority regulations, safety standards & company specifications

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 57+ years of relevant experience in building maintenance or finishing works
  • Strong knowledge of civil & finishing materials, standards, and techniques
  • Technical drawing literacy
  • Familiarity with CAFM & FM workflows
  • Strong vendor and contractor management
  • High attention to detail and quality control
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • UAE/GCC experience is an advantage
  • Certifications in Facilities Management or HSE are beneficial

Nice to Have

  • Experience in commercial & residential environments preferred

Other Details

This is a two-year engagement role located in the UAE, focusing on both renovation and maintenance of various building types.
