Title: Civil Inspector (12 month contract)
Job Purpose
Responsible for conducting building inspections on client projects located on leased land, warehouses, or other managed properties to ensure compliance with applicable development guidelines, building regulations, approved drawings, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Building Inspections & Compliance
- Plan, schedule, and conduct building control inspections for new construction works and project modifications across industrial and commercial zones.
- Inspect foundations, concrete, steel structures, and other construction works in line with approved procedures and inspection checklists.
- Review as-built works and building completion applications to ensure compliance with approved drawings and regulations.
- Monitor construction sites periodically in coordination with consultants and contractors to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Identify non-compliance or violations and prepare detailed reports supported by photographic evidence.
- Follow up with clients, consultants, and contractors to close observations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare inspection reports in the approved format, including site photographs and technical observations.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, daily logs, notes, and photographic documentation.
- Maintain organized files related to inspection, plan checks, findings, and follow-up actions.
- Prepare periodic reports for the line manager and department to support informed decision-making.
Relationship Management
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure permits, policies, and regulations are consistently adhered to.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including customers, contractors, and consultants to share information and resolve inspection-related matters.
Continuous Improvement
- Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency, adopt best practices, and enhance inspection and regulatory processes without compromising service quality.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the UAE construction industry, preferably within building inspection, compliance, or construction supervision roles.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Tactful, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
