Key Activities
Functional Coordination and Support
Identify stakeholder needs and propose improvements for civil military cooperation to achieve efficient management and flexible use of the airspace for both civil and military operation.
Liaison for flexible utilise of restricted danger, and prohibited areas controlled by external owners.
Support the Civil Military Cooperation Supervisor in the development and maintenance of agreements and interfaces between SANS and the military.
Support the Civil Military Cooperation Supervisor in ensuring proper representation of military business and operational requirements in relevant meetings and workshops.
Conduct meetings with Military and other concerned parties in order to facilitate the operations that may cause conflict of interests which require coordination and cooperation.
Conduct and manage airspace reservation activities.
Participate in any requested safety assessments for any Prohibited, Restricted, Danger or Temporary Areas, in order to comply with safety, quality and environment management standards, international guidelines and procedural requirements.
Coordinate and plan for major events, such as large-scale military exercises, which require additional segregated airspace and notify the impacted ATCUs and other management of these activities
Share the experience of the airspace operations and the planning of the future airspace changes with international stake holders.
Coordinate with control centers, ATS unites and external stakeholder for events such as (fireworks, UAS activity, holographic by UAS, and Airshow).
Check and review continuously for all military areas and activity in order to harmonize airspace for more FUA .
Civil-Military Relationship Management
Coordinate and document any policies or standing agreements with the military & other concerned to ensure harmonised air space management processes for both SANS and the military and ensure collaborative application of flexible use of airspace.
Share data between SANS and the military & other concerned parties, with an aim of improving communication and safeguarding SANS and military interests.
Promote a culture of cooperation and transparency as it relates to civil military relationship across the organization
Policies, Processes and Procedures
Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.
Review the established policies, processes and procedures for continuous improvement considering the leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 6 years year's of experience in Air Traffic Control.
Knowledge and deep understanding of GACARs and ICAO standards.
Education and Certifications:
Essential
Hold or have held ATC license in one or multiple ATC discipline
Desirable
A bachelor's degree in air traffic management or equivalent
