Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer Civil & Structural with strong expertise in Oil & Gas EPC projects. The role involves reviewing engineering documents, supporting technical bid evaluations, coordinating across disciplines, and supporting projects through engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, technical specifications, and drawings to understand the project scope and requirements.
- Analyze Civil & Structural scope of work in coordination with engineering documents and drawings.
- Prepare and verify Material Take-Off (MTO) and support Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for specialized civil studies such as Geotechnical and Topographic Surveys.
- Review scope belonging to other engineering disciplines and identify all related civil & structural requirements.
- Verify multi-discipline drawings and documents to ensure proper civil and structural integration.
- Coordinate with engineering subcontractors to clarify technical queries and ensure technically compliant proposals.
- Evaluate engineering subcontractor quotations and assess engineering scope and deliverables.
- Provide technical support to Procurement team during inquiry floating and bid evaluation.
- Provide engineering support to the Construction team and respond to site engineering requests.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement departments.
- Support EPC retrofit projects across all phases including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction related to civil and structural scope.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Civil & Structural design within Oil & Gas / EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of international design codes such as American Standards and British Codes.
- Experience in preparation of:
- Structural design calculations
- Design basis documents
- Technical specifications
- Scope of work documentation
- Ability to develop:
- Concrete and steel structural drawings
- Civil engineering drawings and detailing
- Proficiency in engineering design software (Autodesk / MicroStation based 2D & 3D modelling tools).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on EPC or EPCM Oil & Gas projects.
- Experience supporting technical bid evaluation and procurement processes.
- Exposure to retrofit / brownfield projects.
