Civil technician in a chemical manufacturing facility provides
technical support for the civil and structural infrastructure, focusing on maintenance, safety compliance, quality control, and project implementation within the plant environment.
Key duties and responsibilities are a blend of general civil technician work and the specific safety and regulatory requirements of a chemical plant:
- Repair Maintenance: walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and other building components.
- Fix cracks, leakages, damaged finishes, and structural defects within assigned are
- Carry out minor construction and renovation works as required.
- Perform routine and corrective civil maintenance works, including masonry, plastering, painting, tiling, and concrete repairs
- Assist in waterproofing, grouting, and sealing works.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance issues and report major defects to supervisors.
- Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: A critical aspect in a chemical manufacturing setting is ensuring that all civil works comply with stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, WHMIS). They identify potential hazards and ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols and permits.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering
- Prior+2 years of experience in industrial or chemical plant installation is highly desirable.
