Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Classifications Expert plays a key role in the development, maintenance and implementation of statistical classifications used for data collection and analysis. The employee will provide technical support and guidance on classification issues, ensure classifications are aligned with international standards and guidelines, conduct research and analysis on classification systems and provide recommendations for improvements. Additionally, he/she will provide training and support to other classification specialists and staff on classification best practices and ensure data collection is aligned with the appropriate international classification system.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and support to junior programmers and stakeholders on complex compliance matters.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of junior and senior programmers on complex compliance matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to identify new opportunities for system and process optimization and implementing changes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Collect feedback from internal stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of progress reports directed to all relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of progress.
  • Update social classifications in line with international developments
  • Develop, publish and update documentation on social classifications
  • Harmonize social classifications used by other departments.
  • Conduct trainings on social classifications and indexes to other departments and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate full research and benchmarking to analyze and gather information on classification systems.
  • Create and manage data repository systems on international classifications.
  • Provide training on classification issues and best practices.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • +6 years of experience in classification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in statistics, economics, information science, or any related field.
