Summary
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Stroke. This role involves providing expert advice and focusing on improving the quality of patient care in accordance with HMC's established policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols.
To fulfil the responsibilities above, the Clinical Nurse Specialist, engages in the following activities:
- Provides skilled safe, holistic, culturally competent, person-centered nursing care to patients, families, community and society, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team irrespective of healthcare settings.
- Advanced stroke assessment & management skills, including evidence-based protocols and holistic care planning
- Strong multidisciplinary working experience, coordinating with physicians, therapists, and allied health teams
- Demonstrated leadership role in clinical practice (mentoring, clinical decision-making, pathway development)
- Involvement in quality improvement, audit, or service development related to stroke care
- Excellent communication skills for patient/family education, staff guidance, and clinical documentation
- Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
- Uses data systems to enhance the quality and delivery of patient care.
- Uses research, evaluation, service improvement, and audit findings to enhance the quality of patient care and protect the rights of those participating
- Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients.
- Accepts accountability for own actions and decision-making and for the related outcome.
- Delivers nursing care and practices embedding the HMC Clinical Nurse Specialist Scope of Practice as the ethical and professional framework alongside consideration of the socio-cultural needs of patients, families, communities and society.
- Functions at all times in accordance with legislative, regulatory and policy guidelines relevant to registered nursing practice
Key requirements :
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing /plus Master's degree in nursing (Full Time)
- Minimum 5 years post nursing registration experience
- Including a minimum of 3 years experience in stroke services (acute stroke unit, hyperacute, rehab, or community stroke pathway)
- Including a minimum of 1 year as an Clinical Nurse Specialist or having successfully completed the CNS Intern program in stroke services
- Specialist qualification or formal training in Stroke Care / Neurology (post-registration)
- Valid Primary license from the country of origin and should be eligible for license from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar to practice Healthcare Profession
