Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to be based in Dubai.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist holding a valid license to practice in the UAE (e.g., DHA, DHCC, DOH/HAAD) and specialized certification in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services, with a specific focus on individuals across the lifespan presenting with ASD and other neurodevelopmental challenges. This role requires clinical excellence, adherence to best practice guidelines, and a commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

ADOS Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Administer, score, and interpret the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and other standardized, evidence-based diagnostic tools for ASD, including the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R).
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological, cognitive, developmental, and behavioral assessments for individuals across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults).
  • Formulate differential diagnoses based on established criteria (DSM-5/ICD-11) and prepare detailed, professional assessment reports.

Therapeutic Intervention:

  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans (e.g., CBT, DBT, parent training, play therapy, group therapy) to address a wide range of mental health issues, behavioral challenges, and developmental needs.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to patients, focusing on areas such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, trauma, and stress management.
  • Specialization in interventions tailored for individuals with ASD and their families is highly desirable.

Consultation and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, psychiatrists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and educational staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide consultation and training to parents, caregivers, and schools regarding behavioral management strategies, educational accommodations, and therapeutic goals.

Documentation and Professionalism:

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in accordance with professional ethical standards and UAE regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to professional ethical codes and maintain continuous professional development (CPD) to keep licenses current and skills sharp.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in clinical psychology from an accredited university.
  • Must hold a valid professional license to practice Clinical Psychology in the UAE (DHA, DHCC, or DoH/HAAD).
  • Required ADOS Certification is mandatory. ADI-R training is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of post-licensure clinical experience, with significant experience in the assessment and diagnosis of ASD and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Expertise in developmental psychopathology, psychometric assessment, and various evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
