About The Role
Unified Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled and proactive
Cloud Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure our SaaS platform infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security across our AWS environments while supporting deployments in staging and production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- SaaS Platform Management:
- Provision and manage customer tenants, deploy updates to staging and production environments ensuring high uptime.
- Infrastructure Design & Management:
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
- Monitoring & Incident Response:
- Implement observability solutions (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus) to detect and remediate issues swiftly.
- Cost Optimization:
- Track usage trends and optimize cloud spend using strategies like Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, and rightsizing.
- Disaster Recovery & Backups:
- Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery plans using AWS Backup, RDS Snapshots, and S3 lifecycle policies.
- Security & Compliance:
- Enforce security standards, configure IAM roles and policies, VPC security groups, and encryption mechanisms.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Use Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently and consistently.
- Automation & Scripting:
- Automate operational tasks using scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and tools like Ansible.
- Containerization & Orchestration:
- Build and manage Docker-based containerized applications, leveraging Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS for orchestration.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in Cloud Operations, Infrastructure Management, or DevOps.
- Advanced expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong grasp of networking, IAM, security best practices, and RBAC models.
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, or Prometheus.
- Experience managing container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).
- Ability to troubleshoot cloud-based performance, reliability, and availability issues.
- Flexibility to work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with hybrid cloud or on-premises to AWS migration projects.
- Exposure to other cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud (GCP).
- Knowledge of database solutions (RDS, DynamoDB) and caching tools (Redis, ElastiCache).
