Charles River Developmentis seeking a Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Platform Engineering team with a focus onAzure Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Azure Policy automation, and cloud governance. The role will support implementation, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of governance and security controls across Azure environments. The Cloud Engineer will work with engineering and security teams to improve cloud compliance, automate policy guardrails, and strengthen security posture within a modernDevSecOpsoperating model.

Key Responsibilities - Cloud Engineer

  • Implement andmaintainAzure Policy definitions, initiatives, assignments, exemptions, and remediation workflows.

  • Support CSPM activities by monitoring security recommendations, compliance findings, and remediation progress.

  • Build andmaintainpolicy-as-code and automation solutions using Azure DevOps, GitHub, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Bicep.

  • Automate governance and compliance processes across Azure management groups, subscriptions, and shared platform services.

  • Troubleshoot policy compliance issues,identifyroot causes, and support durable remediation actions.

  • Integrate policy validation and governance checks into CI/CD pipelines and engineering delivery workflows.

  • Contribute tocloud platform automation, operational excellence, security controls, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, cloud governance, or cloud security, with hands-on Azure experience.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Policy, including definitions, initiatives, assignments, exemptions, remediations, and compliance reporting.

  • Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Microsoft Defender for Cloud, or similar cloud security solutions.

  • Experience withinfrastructureas code, scripting, and automation using Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Bicep, or ARM templates.

  • Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and DevOps practices.

  • Understanding ofAzure governance concepts including management groups, subscriptions, RBAC, tagging, and policy enforcement.

  • Good troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud governance, landing zones, or shared cloud platform services.

  • Familiarity with CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar security and compliance frameworks.

  • Knowledge of Azure networking, private endpoints, hybrid connectivity, and secure communication patterns.

  • Microsoft Azure certifications related to security, governance, infrastructure, or cloud administration.

  • Experience working in agile delivery environments andDevSecOpsoperating models.
