Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and organizedCollege Counselorto guide students and families through the college planning and application process. The ideal candidate will have experience in college admissions and a genuine passion for helping students achieve their higher education goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet one-on-one with students and families to develop personalized college plans
  • Assist students in researching and identifying suitable colleges and universities
  • Guide students through the application process, including timelines, essays, and deadlines
  • Provide advice on course selection, extracurricular involvement, profile building and standardized testing
  • Support students in preparing college essays, resumes, and interview skills
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and counseling sessions
  • Stay informed on college admissions trends, financial aid opportunities, and scholarship options
  • Host or support college readiness workshops and informational sessions for students and parents

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in Counseling, Education, or related field preferred)
  • Experience in college counseling, school counseling, admissions, or academic advising
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of college application platforms (e.g., Common App, FAFSA, UCAS)
  • Familiarity with local high school curriculums and college admission requirements

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with essay coaching or academic writing support
  • Experience in providing students with one-to-one guidance
  • Ability tobuild relationships with colleges and universities
  • Background in mentoring
