Role Description

The Commercial B2B Partnerships Officer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing B2B

partnerships that generate revenue through:

  • Applied research projects
  • Industrial problem-solving contracts
  • Testing and laboratory services
  • Semi-industrial production
  • Technology transfer and commercialization
  • Technical consulting and training services

The officer will transform CMRDI's product and service portfolio into signed contracts.

Scope of Work

  • Business Development & Lead Generation
  • Identify priority industrial sectors (steel, energy, petrochemicals, mining, cement, medicine, water, food, etc.)
  • Build and maintain a qualified B2B pipeline
  • Conduct proactive outreach to factories, industrial groups, and engineering firms
  • Arrange meetings, presentations, and site visits

Deal Structuring & Closing

  • Translate industrial needs into technical project scopes with researchers
  • Support pricing, proposal drafting, and negotiation
  • Coordinate between industry clients and technical teams
  • Lead contract discussions until signature
  • Ensure projects are commercially viable and revenue-positive

Partnership Development

  • Develop strategic partnerships with:
  • Industrial federations
  • Industrial zones
  • Technology parks
  • International donors & project-based funding partners
  • Identify joint ventures and licensing opportunities

Portfolio Commercialization

Actively promote:

  • Advanced casting solutions
  • Metallurgical testing & NDT services
  • Semi-industrial production lines
  • Local alternatives to imported industrial components
  • Support packaging of technologies into bankable offers

CRM & Performance Tracking

  • Build and manage a lead tracking system
  • Report monthly on:
  • Leads generated
  • Meetings conducted
  • Proposals submitted
  • Deals closed
