What Will Your Day Look Like
As a Commercial Data Analyst, will be responsible for transforming raw sales and market data into actionable strategic insights for the Snacks business units. The role will support the commercial team by tracking P&L performance, monitoring trade spend efficiency and identifying growth opportunities across diverse territories. The goal is to drive commercial productivity through advanced visualization and rigorous financial modelling.
How Will You Make an Impact
Sales & Market Analysis
- Data Analysis & Insights: Collect, consolidate, and analyze sales and market data to track performance against targets and identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Dashboard & Reporting: Design and maintain automated Power BI dashboards across all sales channels (Retail, E-com, Gifting, Exports) for real time performance monitoring.
- Support Strategic Decisions: Provide actionable insights to drive category growth and optimize commercial effectiveness.
Pricing & Profitability Tracking
- Pricing & Margin Monitoring: Track product pricing, discounts, and promotions across regions to ensure profitability and margin protection.
- Margin Analysis & Insights: Conduct detailed margin analysis and provide recommendations for pricing adjustments.
- Support Profitability Governance: Ensure all pricing and promotional activities align with company guidelines to optimize financial performance.
Forecasting & Planning Support
- Forecasting & Sales Planning Support: Collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain to improve demand signal accuracy and minimize overstock and out-of-stock risks.
- Data Preparation & Analysis: Prepare templates, perform variance analyses, and track forecast vs. actual performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Report insights at category, customer, and SKU levels to support informed decision making.
Trade Investment Analysis
- Trade Spend Analysis: Audit and evaluate trade promotions and distributor claims to measure ROI and ensure optimal investment.
- Campaign Effectiveness Monitoring: Analyze the impact of trade marketing activities on sales performance.
- Reporting & Recommendations: Generate post-campaign ROI reports and provide insights to optimize future promotional investments.
Reporting & Dashboard Management
- Dashboard & Reporting Management: Maintain performance dashboards using Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for accurate monitoring.
- Data Automation Support: Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency in reporting and data visualization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to gather inputs, validate data, and ensure accuracy.
- Strategic Insights: Provide actionable insights to support pricing, forecasting, and channel strategies.
- Process Automation: Identify manual data bottlenecks and implement automated solutions to improve team efficiency.
Qualification, Experience & Functional Knowledge
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Data Science, Finance, Economics, or Business Analytics..
Experience
- 35 years of experience in Commercial Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Sales Operations within the FMCG sector.
- Experience with Snacks or high-rotation categories is a plus.
Functional Knowledge & Skills
- Excel Expert: Advanced modeling, pivot tables, and VBA (though moving toward BI automation is the priority).
- Financial Literacy: Clear understanding of P&L structures, Gross-to-Net (G2N), and Trade Spend mechanics
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Understanding of sales KPIs, trade spend, and profitability metrics.
- Detail-oriented with excellent numerical and communication skills.
