Commercial Director International Exhibitions

We are seeking a high-caliber Commercial Director to spearhead the sales and sponsorship strategy for a market-leading B2B exhibition. Reporting to the SVP, you will take full ownership of the revenue lifecyclefrom global strategy and financial forecasting to high-level stakeholder management.
This is a pivotal role for a commercial leader with a proven track record in the events industry and the ability to mentor a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global sales and sponsorship strategy, identifying new revenue streams and sector opportunities.
- Revenue Management: Take full accountability for revenue targets, budget forecasting, and price point analysis to maximize yield.
- Team Performance: Lead and motivate the sales team through effective KPI setting, incentive planning, and hands-on coaching.
- Stakeholder & Agent Management: Cultivate consultative relationships with key accounts, trade associations, government departments, and global agents.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the full sales pipeline (CRM), working closely with marketing and operations to ensure best practices and floorplan optimization.
Requirements
- Experience: 57 years in medium-to-large scale B2B events, with at least 3 years in a commercial management or project lead role.
- Leadership: 35 years of experience managing and developing established commercial teams.
- Industry Knowledge: While not essential, experience within the Healthcare or Health sector is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Expertise in exhibition sales, financial planning, and disruptive competitor strategies.
- Technical: Proficiency in Salesforce (or a commitment to developing expert-level knowledge).
- Education: Degree educated with exceptional presentation and communication skills.
