Position Overview

We are seeking a Commercial Engineer to support our Commercial Department in managing financial and contractual performance across multiple projects. The role focuses on project-level commercial reporting, progress payment management, and proactive coordination with QS, Finance, and Project Controls teams to ensure full commercial visibility and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with project-based commercial and quantity surveying teams, as well as internal departments such as Finance.
  • Monitor progress payment applications, certifications, invoicing, and collections to ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Track project performance against contractual durations and agreed values.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports for all ongoing projects, highlighting key variances and trends.
  • Update progress, completion forecasts, and earned value metrics.
  • Develop and maintain project-based cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete analyses.
  • Provide input to regional commercial management on financial risk and opportunity areas.
  • Report directly to the Regional Commercial Director.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in commercial or quantity surveying functions within the construction or MEP industry.
  • Practical experience in progress payment applications, variation order submissions, and earned value analysis.
  • Familiarity with unit rate analyses and commercial cost control methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and analytical formulas.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and reporting skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FIDIC Familiarity: Understanding of commercial management under FIDIC Red and Yellow Book contracts.
  • Regional Experience: Prior experience within Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries, with knowledge of regional invoicing and cost control practices.
  • Commercial Systems Proficiency: Experience with ERP or cost management tools.
  • Analytical Reporting: Capability to prepare performance dashboards or KPI reports using Excel or Power BI.
