Overview:
As the Commercial Growth Team Lead, you will be the architect of our future market presence. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between abstract market trends and concrete revenue growth.
You will lead the charge in identifying untapped sub-segments, navigating regulatory shifts, and pioneering innovative business models that will keep Lafarge at the forefront of the construction materials industry.
Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:
- Adhere to enforce relevant legislation and policies, and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.
Functional:
1. Strategic Market Growth:
- Lead the strategic scope within the Commercial Department, ensuring alignment with Lafarge's long-term vision.
- Define and evaluate growth opportunities across all customers, segments, products, and regional markets.
- Identify and prioritize emerging trends, technologies, and business models relevant to the cement and construction materials industry.
2. Market Intelligence & Regulatory Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze building regulations, environmental laws, and industry policies to assess their impact on Lafarge's business.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations on regulatory shifts and potential opportunities or risks.
- Benchmark competitors, industry players, and global practices to guide local adaptation.
3. Business Model Innovation & New Initiatives:
- Lead feasibility studies for new initiatives and assess their commercial and operational impact.
- Propose innovative business models to address evolving customer needs and market dynamics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot and implement new projects.
4. Micro-Market & Segment Analysis:
- Dive deep into micro-markets, sub-segments, and niche opportunities to identify untapped demand.
- Map customer needs, value chains, and demand drivers at the local and regional level.
- Translate findings into actionable strategies that enhance market penetration.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution:
- Coordinate closely with the Strategy and Topline functions to align initiatives with corporate growth directions.
- Direct the execution of business growth projects under the guidance of the Commercial Performance & Growth Senior Manager.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and business cases for senior management.
6. Growth Scope:
- Design and execute growth strategies to expand the customer base, maximize revenue streams, and improve market share.
- Assess and study commercial growth levers (channel expansion, partnerships, digital platforms).
- Lead initiatives to optimize revenue streams, ensuring long-term sustainability.
- Oversee sales enablement programs in collaboration with Commercial Excellence to empower sales teams with tools, insights, and growth-focused methodologies.
- Monitor topline KPIs, assess performance gaps, and implement corrective growth actions.
- Build strategic alliances and partnerships that create synergies and unlock new growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in business growth, strategy or market research.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market data.
- Knowledge of local building regulations, laws, and their implications on the cement/construction business.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of data analysis tools is an advantage.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
