Job Description

Job Purpose:

To Coordinate the commercial aspects of the prime contract on a company project including invoicing, identification of variation orders and claims initiation

Tasks, Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial advice to project management team to support proper decision making
  • Manage contractual correspondences with client and partner(s).
  • Manage project documentation and notifications of potential variation orders and/or claims, including claims logs.
  • Conduct weekly/biweekly meetings with different departments for initiating, discussing, negotiating, and closing variations in coordination with project management team.
  • Review client's invoices contractually, analyze certified invoices, and review payment status (statements of account) and ensure all additions, omissions, deductions, and retentions are included with all necessary supporting documents for the relevant variation orders issuance.
  • Initiate main contract invoicing and variation orders procedures including the necessary coordination until the issuance of the relevant Taking Over Certificate.
  • Responsible for main contract early start activities including issuance and review of LGs and insurance policies.
  • Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with clients, partners, and project team to ensure smooth communication.
  • Provide recommendations and lessons learned for improving the commercial processes.
  • Responsible for managing the overall project commercial status (payments, billing, claims, VOs, amendments, conflict resolution, etc.).
  • Facilitate timely updates of all commercial logs and project contracts reports including areas of concern, contract financial status, VO status, claims status, etc.
  • Initiation of claims and counterclaims, identification of claim events, and ensure the proper contemporary records are maintained.
  • Initiation, notification, and substantiation of variations including the necessary internal and external communications.

Minimum Qualification & Requirements

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in any discipline (as appropriate)
  • 15 years of total work experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Contractual and Legal Aspects of the Construction Industry (CLAC)
  • PMP or equivalent
