Job Description

The Commis – Bakery is responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of baked goods, including breads, croissants, and desserts, while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, cakes, pastries, and other bakery items
  • Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to standard recipes
  • Support senior chefs in daily bakery operations
  • Ensure all food items are prepared as per quality and presentation standards
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bakery section
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines)
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control
  • Properly store ingredients and finished products
  • Operate bakery equipment safely (ovens, mixers, proofers)
  • Assist in receiving and checking deliveries

Requirements:;

  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
  • Culinary or bakery certification is an advantage.
  • 2 years of experience in a bakery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
