Role Description The Commis Chef Pastry is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for supporting the pastry section of the kitchen. Daily tasks include preparing and baking pastries and desserts, assisting with mise en place, and following recipes and instructions from senior chefs. The role involves maintaining high standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation, as well as ensuring proper storage of ingredients and finished products. The Commis Chef Pastry is also expected to uphold hygiene and safety procedures, help with stock rotation, and cooperate with the wider kitchen team during service. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to consistent, timely production of pastry items.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Culinary Skills, including Cooking and Food Preparation in a professional kitchen environment.
Candidates should possess knowledge of Hygiene standards and food safety practices, with a focus on cleanliness and proper handling of ingredients.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen team members.
Basic pastry training or experience in a pastry or bakery section is beneficial.
Relevant culinary certification or diploma is an advantage.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by café operations.
Strong time management, reliability, and willingness to learn from senior kitchen staff
