Job Description

Objective:

To provide installation support, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, technical support, and handover of generator sets, engines, control systems, automation systems, and associated equipment.

The role ensures that all power generation systems are commissioned, tested, and handed over in line with manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and customer expectations, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality across projects and other service activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-commissioning inspections for engines, generator sets, control panels, automation systems, and associated equipment.
  • Conduct load bank testing, performance acceptance tests, and functional testing.
  • Verify operating parameters, system settings, controls, and overall equipment performance.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests, where applicable.
  • Diagnose and rectify engine, electrical, control, and automation system faults.
  • Support warranty investigations, failure analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with factory technical support teams and principals for complex technical cases.
  • Support electrical service activities related to generator systems, control panels, and associated equipment.
  • Provide basic mechanical support during service and commissioning activities, where required.
  • Ensure service activities are carried out in line with safety, quality, and manufacturer standards.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, service reports, test records, and service documentation.
  • Develop snag lists, follow-up action plans, and closure reports.
  • Maintain accurate service and commissioning records in line with project standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers during project execution, commissioning, and handover stages.
  • Support customer satisfaction by ensuring timely technical response and effective issue resolution.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Technical certification or manufacturer training in generator systems, engines, control systems, or automation systems will be an advantage.

Recommended Experience:

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing of generator sets, power generation systems, or related electrical systems.
  • Previous experience with premium power generation brands such as mtu, Rolls-Royce Power Systems, Generac, or similar brands will be an advantage.
  • Experience in load bank testing, performance testing, FAT/SAT, fault diagnosis, and technical reporting.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of generator, control, automation systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and project specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of testing procedures, commissioning standards, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and quality focus.
