Compliance & AML Manager

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

We're hiring on behalf of an early-stage financial technology company building cross-border remittance infrastructure for underserved markets. Licensed in the US, Canada, and Sudan, the company is expanding into the UK, Europe, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Syria.

They're looking for a hands-on Compliance & AML Manager with strong global/multi-jurisdictional experience to help manage and scale the compliance function, with the opportunity to grow into the Head of Compliance role as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the global AML/CFT programme, including KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting.

• Oversee compliance activities across Canada, the US, and Sudan.

• Support the development of compliance frameworks for the UK, Europe, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Syria.

• Develop, implement, and improve compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Support regulatory reporting, examinations, and relationships with regulators.

• Conduct ongoing due diligence on banking partners, FX counterparties, and KYC providers.

• Prepare compliance reports and support internal and external audits.

• Help build and scale the compliance function as the company expands.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in Compliance, AML, or Financial Crime within a regulated bank, fintech, remittance provider, or FX business.

• Mandatory global/multi-jurisdictional compliance experience.

• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.

• Experience with at least one of the following frameworks: FINTRAC/PCMLTFA, CBE/FRA, or CBOS.

• Experience with cross-border payments, remittances, or high-risk jurisdictions is preferred.

• Strong commercial awareness, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent in Arabic and English.

• Ideally suited to someone in the early stages of their leadership career, ready to take greater ownership and grow into the Head of Compliance role.
