Title: Compliance Director - Business Advisory

The Role
This position partners closely with stakeholders across the business to provide clear, practical compliance guidance. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the role focuses on supporting the business in meeting regulatory expectations while contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of the overall compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted compliance advisor to the business, providing practical guidance on regulatory requirements, conduct, and data protection matters
- Partner with product, technology, and commercial teams to ensure compliance is embedded into new initiatives, change programmes and customer journeys
- Interpret and apply regulatory expectations and internal policies across a range of business activities
- Support the development and enhancement of a risk-based compliance framework, including monitoring and assurance activities
- Provide constructive challenge on business decisions where regulatory or conduct risks arise
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and escalating compliance risks, issues, and breaches where appropriate
- Support regulatory engagement activities, including submissions, queries, and supervisory interactions
- Contribute to the development of compliance policies, procedures, and governance standards
- Promote a strong culture of compliance, ethics, and accountability across the organisation
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years compliance experience within financial services, ideally in advisory or business-facing roles
- Experience in fintech, digital banking, payments, or similarly regulated environments is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, conduct risk, and data protection requirements
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology teams
- Experience supporting or developing compliance frameworks, controls, and governance structures
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving, and high-growth environments
