Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Compliance Manager ensures that the company's operations across multiple jurisdictions comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. The role mitigates regulatory and compliance risks, manages complaints and regulatory interactions, and promotes a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the organization.

Preferred Background: Legal qualification or legal professional experience is strongly preferred, particularly in financial services, regulatory compliance, or corporate law.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee regulatory filings, notifications, license maintenance, and ongoing regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Track regulatory developments and communicate operational and strategic impact to senior management.
  • Maintain audit-ready compliance documentation, registers, and records.

Policies, Procedures, and Administrative Frameworks

  • Draft, maintain, and update the company's policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and administrative frameworks in line with regulatory requirements and business operations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Operations, Customer Support, Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, and Management) to develop, review, and implement policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, consultants, and external counsel, to ensure policies and procedures meet regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure periodic review and update of policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes, business developments, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain version control, documentation, and governance approval records for all policies and procedures.

Complaints and Regulatory Reporting

  • Manage the full lifecycle of client and regulatory complaints, including investigation, resolution, escalation, and reporting.
  • Maintain complaints registers and prepare structured reports for senior management and regulators.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend process and control improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, partners, and external stakeholders on complaints and compliance matters.

Audits and Regulatory Engagement

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and information requests.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete submissions to regulators and stakeholders.

AML/CFT and Risk Management

  • Oversee AML/CFT compliance activities and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review compliance issues arising from onboarding, monitoring, and customer support activities.
  • Authorize business-related content, marketing materials, and communications from a regulatory and compliance perspective.

Governance and Business Support

  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, HR, IT, Customer Support, and Management to embed compliance requirements into daily operations.
  • Provide periodic compliance updates and reports to senior management and governance committees.
  • Promote a culture of regulatory awareness, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
