Compliance Officer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and ethical Compliance Officer to support the organisation in maintaining effective compliance practices and meeting applicable legal, regulatory, and internal requirements. The role is responsible for monitoring compliance activities, identifying potential risks, supporting policy implementation, and promoting a strong culture of integrity and accountability.

Key responsibilities include reviewing internal policies and procedures, monitoring regulatory and compliance requirements, conducting compliance checks and assessments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting internal audits and investigations. The Compliance Officer will work closely with business teams and management to identify compliance gaps, recommend appropriate controls, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

The role also involves preparing compliance reports, maintaining documentation, tracking regulatory developments, supporting staff awareness and training initiatives, and escalating potential compliance concerns appropriately. The successful candidate will apply sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and communicate compliance requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Compliance, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of compliance principles, governance frameworks, risk management, and internal controls.
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, regulations, and regulatory guidance accurately.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential compliance risks and control weaknesses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
• Ability to conduct compliance reviews, assessments, monitoring activities, and documentation checks.
• Familiarity with compliance management systems, risk registers, audit processes, and reporting tools.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical judgement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders while maintaining appropriate independence and objectivity.
• Proactive approach to identifying compliance risks and supporting continuous improvement of compliance processes.
