Job Description

Job Summary

The Computer Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware, peripherals, and related equipment. The role focuses mainly on hardware support, ensuring all devices operate efficiently and minimizing downtime for users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and hardware components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues related to computers and peripheral devices.
  • Provide technical support for printers, scanners, and photocopy machines.
  • Replace faulty components such as RAM, hard drives, power supplies, and motherboards.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on computer equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems reported by users.
  • Install and connect hardware devices such as monitors, keyboards, and network cables.
  • Maintain inventory of IT hardware and spare parts.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions according to IT support procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in computer hardware support and maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of computer components and peripherals.
