Condition Monitoring Technician (Oil & Gas)

Qualification (minimum)

Technical Diploma (minimum 3 years) in Mechanical Engineering.

Level-I or Level-II certification in Condition Monitoring techniques (mandatory).

Experience (minimum)

. Minimum 5 years experience in Petrochemical / Oil & Gas industry in condition monitoring.

Job Description

. Perform online and offline condition monitoring of rotating equipment using portable and fixed systems.

. Collect, analyse, and trend data to assess equipment health and identify abnormal operating conditions.

. Conduct vibration analysis, ultrasound testing, thermography, oil analysis, and MCSA to diagnose machinery issues.

. Diagnose faults such as misalignment, imbalance, bearing defects, looseness, resonance, and lubrication issues.

. Prepare detailed inspection and technical reports, including root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.

. Maintain accurate records and equipment history in the computerized condition monitoring / CMMS system.

. Communicate critical equipment conditions to maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support reliability and preventive maintenance.

Skills

. Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics - Strong hands-on skill in online and offline condition monitoring of rotating equipment.

. Vibration & Analytical Techniques - Proficient in vibration analysis, ultrasound testing, thermography, oil analysis, and MCSA.

. Rotating Equipment Knowledge - Excellent technical understanding of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, and fans.

. Data Analysis & Reporting - Skilled in analysing trends, identifying early-stage defects, and preparing detailed inspection and technical reports.

. Computer & CMMS Usage - PC literate with practical experience in maintaining condition monitoring data and equipment history in computerized systems / CMMS.
