About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Configuration Engineer to join our Aircraft Manufacturing team.
This role requires strong expertise in configuration management, engineering change control, PLM systems, and aerospace manufacturing processes to ensure compliance, traceability, and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Engineering Configuration Control team to ensure the latest approved aircraft configuration is accurately reflected in the As-Designed product structure.
- Support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities and maintain configuration integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage and coordinate engineering change processes within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
- Assess the impact of engineering changes on manufacturing documentation, including Condition of Supply (COS), Work Instructions (WI), Manufacturing Orders (MO), Related production documents
- Conduct impact and risk analyses associated with design and configuration changes.
- Coordinate with suppliers and production teams to ensure timely implementation of approved engineering changes based on effectivity requirements.
- Ensure suppliers are working to the latest approved design data, drawings, and configuration revisions.
- Monitor supplier production progress and prepare periodic status and performance reports.
- Track engineering drawing releases and initiate the creation or revision of manufacturing documentation as required.
- Maintain, update, and monitor tooling configuration dashboards and generate weekly reports.
- Provide regular project status updates, risks, and issue reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
- Support compliance with Quality, Safety, Environmental, Information Security, Flight Safety, and Code of Conduct requirements.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Configuration Engineering, Configuration Control, or Change Management within a production environment.
- Preferably experienced in the Aerospace or Aircraft Manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Configuration Management
- Engineering Change Control
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Hands-on experience with PLM systems, preferably ENOVIA.
- Experience managing complex multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
- Project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to assess engineering change impacts across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of aircraft design lifecycle, configuration control processes, and change management methodologies.
- Working knowledge of CATIA and DELMIA.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, IFS, or equivalent.
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards and quality requirements.
- Experience developing and implementing configuration management procedures within a production organization.
- Familiarity with supplier management and configuration audits.
