The Construction and Installation Manager lead the execution of turnkey cold storage & clean room projects, overseeing construction, prefabrication, coordinate refrigeration systems installation (including chillers and evaporators) with refrigeration manger, and final handover. This role is pivotal in planning, coordinating, and managing the full project cycle from production through installationensuring technical compliance, timeline adherence, and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a qualified Civil or MechanicalEngineer/ with proven expertise in cold storage construction, clean room construction and good knowledge of refrigeration and MEP systems. He must be capable of coordinating between Production, Sales, Logistics, Maintenance, and Site teams, while professionally handling site claims and client requirements until final commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination
- Develop comprehensive execution schedules for cold rooms, freezer warehouses, clean room and refrigerated systems.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Technical Office, Procurement, and Logistics to align deliverables.
- Manage delivery sequencing and installation workflows (panels, doors, chillers, controls).
- Ensure project activities meet agreed timelines and quality expectations.
2. Civil and Refrigeration Systems Integration
- Supervise civil works: floor insulation, plinths, slopes, foundations, and drainage.
- Ensure seamless mechanical-civil interfacing for chillers, evaporators, and piping.
- Review shop and coordination drawings for consistency across disciplines.
3. Site Operations and Execution
- Lead on-site installation of insulated sandwich panels (PU/PIR), Clean room partitions and doors, piping, coordinate installation of refrigeration systems with Refrigeration teams.
- Ensure execution in line with technical specifications, QA/QC standards, and drawings.
- Oversee testing and commissioning: leak testing, temperature checks, and system start-up.
4. Client Coordination and Claims Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients from kick-off to handover.
- Translate client needs into actionable instructions and integrate approved changes.
- Handle site instructions, claims, and complaints promptly and diplomatically.
- Conduct joint inspections and secure client sign-offs at each project milestone.
5. Resource Management
- Allocate labour, materials, and equipment across concurrent projects efficiently.
- Minimize waste in installation of panels, refrigeration components, and accessories.
- Coordinate with the Shipping/Logistics team to align deliveries with project sequences.
6. Quality Assurance and Safety
- Enforce QC protocols for refrigeration system installation and panel fit-outs.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO, SBC, ASHRAE, and food safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site safety audits and enforce adherence to local safety standards.
7. Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor cross-functional site teams: engineers, installers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Monitor individual and team KPIs to maintain high-performance execution.
- Resolve on-site personnel issues and foster a collaborative work environment.
