Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Construction Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, services, and contractors related to construction, renovation, and maintenance projects across the Group's facilities. This includes sourcing building materials, managing vendor contracts, and ensuring timely delivery to support project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement activities for construction and renovation projects, including civil works, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and finishing materials.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, and Facility Management teams to understand project scopes and material requirements.
  • Source qualified contractors and suppliers for construction-related services and materials.
  • Evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with technical specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor supplier and contractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
  • Coordinate with site teams and warehouses for delivery schedules, material inspections, and inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory standards in all construction-related purchases.
  • Support cost estimation and budgeting for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Address supply chain disruptions and propose alternative sourcing strategies when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in any relevant field is required; a background in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in construction procurement, renovation projects, or infrastructure sourcing.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, market pricing, and vendor networks.
  • Excellent negotiation, project coordination, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and legal terms.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage procurement across multiple sites and projects simultaneously.
