Position Overview:
The Construction Director will lead and oversee all construction projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Dubai's construction market, both with development companies and contractors, and a proven track record of managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and coordinate construction activities across multiple projects.
- Supervise and mentor project managers, site engineers, and other construction staff.
- Ensure compliance with Dubai Building Codes, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities such as Nakheel, Trakheesi, DDA, DLD, and other relevant bodies to obtain approvals and maintain compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure quality, timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
- Optimize project costs through design review, material selection, technology adoption, and efficient resource management.
- Oversee procurement processes, including local and imported materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
- Review and approve project schedules, budgets, and technical documentation.
- Ensure successful completion of projects, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
- Licenses & Certifications: Possession of a valid engineer certificate card with a G+UNL license in Dubai.
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Dubai's construction sector.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role (Construction Director, Chief Project Engineer).
- Experience in both development companies and construction companies is highly desirable.
- Completion of at least 3 major projects under a general contractor license (G+UNL).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Dubai Building Code, Nakheel, Trakheesi, DDA, DLD, and other regulatory authorities.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in monitoring subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong ability to optimize project costs through design review, recalculation of volumes, load assessment, and use of modern technologies and materials.
