The project:

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

Mace is one of the delivery partners requiring high-calibre and experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project.

The construction director shall act as a senior site-based construction and delivery lead within the client project management team to support the recovery and successful delivery of the project.

The role is focused on monitoring, assessing, coordinating, and supporting the Contractor's construction activities, subcontractor coordination, sequencing, productivity, and site execution to assist in maintaining the approved recovery programme and achievement of key project milestones.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Lead, manage and coordinate the senior construction managers assigned across the project.
  • Allocate responsibilities across project zones, assets, systems, and work fronts to ensure effective site coverage and monitoring.
  • Ensure proactive identification and escalation of critical delivery risks, subcontractor performance issues, and programme concerns across all project areas.
  • Lead regular coordination and review meetings with the senior construction managers to ensure alignment of priorities, recovery actions, and project objectives.
  • Review progress against the approved programme, recovery plans, and key milestones.
  • Support the contractor and project stakeholders in identifying and implementing practical mitigation and recovery measures.
  • Undertake regular site walks and field assessments to validate actual progress and site conditions.
  • Identify underperforming subcontractors, trade clashes, and interface issues impacting programme delivery.
  • Facilitate collaborative resolution of coordination and execution issues between the contractor, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Support the recovery director in monitoring implementation of the approved recovery strategy and mitigation plans.
  • Review look-ahead programmes, recovery schedules, and critical path activities.
  • Provide regular factual reporting and recommendations to the client project management team and recovery director.

You'll need to have:

  • Minimum 15+ years experience in large-scale construction and site delivery.
  • Degree qualified in engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience on complex or distressed projects requiring recovery and mitigation initiatives.
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractor coordination across large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management capability.
  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
