Job Overview
The MEP Construction Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, and technical standards. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, resolving design and site issues, and driving the successful testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Works Planning
- Develop and manage detailed MEP construction schedules, ensuring alignment with the overall project programme and key milestones.
- Plan manpower, equipment, and material resources required for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installation activities.
Site Execution Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day MEP construction activities on site to ensure works progress according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and trade foremen to resolve site issues and maintain productivity targets.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure MEP installations comply with project specifications, approved shop drawings, and applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate with QA/QC teams to close non-conformances and maintain quality records.
Design Coordination & Drawings
- Review MEP design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittals to identify clashes and coordination issues before execution.
- Liaise with design consultants and BIM teams to resolve coordination conflicts across MEP disciplines.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Enforce HSE requirements on all MEP works, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are implemented on site.
- Conduct regular safety walks and toolbox talks to promote a strong safety culture among MEP teams.
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Manage MEP subcontractors and vendors, monitoring performance, progress, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, variation requests, and material submittals in coordination with the commercial team.
Testing & Commissioning
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with performance and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with authorities and clients for inspections, approvals, and issuance of completion certificates.
Reporting & Cost Control
- Prepare progress reports, forecasts, and budget updates for MEP works to support project control and decision-making.
- Monitor MEP project costs against budget, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Other Tasks and Accountabilities
- Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by management to achieve the objectives and commitments of the department.
- Act in full compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental Integrated Management System to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.

- Knowledge of QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning procedures for MEP works.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Work Experience: 10+ years of experience in MEP construction or related fields.
