Construction Manager (Power & Digital)

The Construction Manager - EPC (Power & Digital) is responsible for leading and managing all site construction activities related to power, electrical, telecommunications, ICT, ELV, smart infrastructure, and digital transformation projects. The role ensures the successful execution of projects in accordance with approved schedules, budgets, quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management

• Lead and supervise all construction activities for EPC Power & Digital projects.
• Ensure project execution aligns with approved engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, vendors, and construction resources.
• Monitor site productivity and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, and HSE teams.

Project Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement construction strategies, work plans, and execution methodologies.
• Review and approve construction schedules, manpower plans, and equipment deployment.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks affecting delivery.
• Ensure timely completion of project milestones and overall project objectives.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify quality compliance.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and work procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, international codes, and contractual requirements.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project sites.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and statutory requirements.
• Conduct safety reviews, toolbox talks, and site audits.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary construction focal point for clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Participate in project meetings and present construction progress updates.
• Resolve construction-related issues and provide technical guidance when required.
• Support contract administration and claims management activities.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure successful project completion and handover to clients.
• Review punch list items and oversee project close-out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
• OSHA, NEBOSH, or other HSE certifications are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in EPC construction projects.
• At least 8 years in a Construction Manager role on large-scale Power & Digital infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in:Power Generation & Distribution Projects
• High Voltage / Medium Voltage Substations
• ICT & Telecommunications Infrastructure
• Fiber Optic Networks
• ELV & Security Systems
• Data Centers
• Smart Cities & Digital Infrastructure Projects
• GCC/Middle East project experience is highly preferred.

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of EPC project execution methodologies.
• Expertise in power infrastructure, telecom, ICT, and digital systems.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and construction management tools.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and HSE standards.
• Knowledge of international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and relevant local codes.
