Job Summary:
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role coordinates project activities, manages site operations, and liaises with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery.
1. Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Site Management
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day construction activities to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Monitor project schedules, site progress, and resource allocation to ensure timely project completion
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on project-related matters
- Manage site manpower, including supervisors, subcontractors, and workers to ensure efficient site operations
Construction Operations & Quality Assurance
- Oversee project execution in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements
- Monitor non-compliance issues and ensure timely rectification of defects prior to project handover
Project Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, progress reports, technical documentation, and site records
- Monitor project costs, material usage, and construction progress
- Maintain proper documentation for inspections, approvals, and project correspondence
- Assist in project meetings and provide regular updates to management and clients
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements
- Enforce quality control procedures and safe work practices on site
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and consultants to obtain necessary inspections and approvals
- Perform risk assessments and implement corrective actions where required
Administrative & Support Duties
- Support budgeting, procurement, and resource planning activities
- Coordinate project handover documentation and final inspections
- Assist in resolving technical and operational issues during project execution
- Handle ad-hoc construction and project management duties as assigned
2. Requirements & Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction project management or site management
- Knowledge of Singapore building regulations, construction practices, and statutory requirements
- Strong project planning, coordination, and site management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
3. Preferred Skills
- Experience in pharmaceutical, process plant, industrial, or commercial construction projects
- Exposure to EPC or EPCM project environments
- Understanding of construction sequencing, site installation practices, and project handover processes
- Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple site activities concurrently
