CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION)

Qualifications

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical from a recognized institution.
  • Extensive commissioning experience in oil & gas projects.
  • Strong construction management skills with effective communication and conflictresolution abilities.

Experience

  • 810 years of relevant experience in construction and installation activities within the oil & gas industry.
  • Experience in telemetry installation and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of construction best practices, systems, processes, and industry standards.
  • Understanding of construction techniques for brownfield environments and wellhead facilities.
  • Experience across Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, and Telemetry disciplines for offshore environments.
  • Proficient in interpreting method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), construction schedules, and engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in identifying potential issues and recommending practical solutions.
  • Ability to supervise a multidisciplinary and multinational workforce.
  • Computer literate with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control, safety, and environmental requirements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as the company's representative at offshore worksites, ensuring all construction and installation activities are carried out safely and in line with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with operations teams for site access, work preparation, and hotwork requirements.
  • Supervise contractor activities for Electrical, Instrumentation, Fire & Gas, DCS, ESD, and Telecom systems during offshore construction.
  • Review detailed design drawings, method statements, and material inspection documentation.
  • Conduct and oversee receipt inspections for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom materials; raise reports for damages or missing items.
  • Prepare work permits and ensure compliance with the company's electronic permittowork procedures.
  • Attend daily coordination meetings to review progress, constraints, and upcoming activities.
  • Coordinate personnel and material logistics with contractor representatives.
  • Review contractor schedules, method statements, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
  • Liaise with contractor and HSE teams to ensure all construction activities follow approved procedures and safety requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and project standards.
  • Supervise and approve activities including cable pulling, glanding, termination, loop checks, megger testing, cabinet installation, and field instrument installation.
  • Perform or witness inspections in accordance with approved ITPs; sign inspection records and quality forms.
  • Conduct punch-list walkthroughs, raise items, and coordinate clearance activities.
  • Review and approve Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCCs).
  • Maintain daily progress reports, highlight anomalies, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Review and submit daily and weekly progress reports; verify contractor progress claims for accuracy.
