A leading tertiary care hospital in
Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced
Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to join its multidisciplinary ICU team. The role requires advanced expertise in managing high‑acuity adult patients, strong leadership in critical care pathways, and a commitment to evidence‑based, patient‑centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-spectrum ICU care for critically ill adult patients, including medical, surgical, trauma, and sepsis cases.
- Lead daily multidisciplinary ICU rounds and ensure high‑quality clinical decision‑making.
- Perform and supervise advanced ICU procedures: mechanical ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, central/arterial line insertion, RRT initiation, and complex resuscitation.
- Collaborate closely with anesthesia, emergency medicine, cardiology, surgery, and allied health teams.
- Participate in clinical governance, M&M meetings, quality improvement, and ICU protocol development.
- Ensure adherence to international critical care guidelines (SCCM, ESICM, NICE).
- Provide teaching and mentorship to residents, fellows, and ICU nursing staff.
- Support research, audits, and service development initiatives within the ICU.
Qualifications & Requirements
Consultant-level qualification in Critical Care / Intensive Care Medicine:
- American Board
- CCT (UK) / CESR
- FRCA with ICU fellowship
- Australian/NZ Fellowship
- Western-equivalent certifications
- Minimum 5–7 years post‑consultant experience preferred.
- Eligibility for DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) licensing.
- Demonstrated experience in high-acuity ICUs within tertiary or quaternary hospitals.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team‑based care skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in ICU service expansion, pathway optimization, or digital ICU systems.
- Interest in ECMO, advanced ventilation strategies, or subspecialty critical care areas.
- Commitment to patient safety, continuous improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
